Bill passed away February 12, 2026 in the Moosehaven Memory Care at the age of 86.
He was born to Walter and Irene Lazuka on February 24, 1940 in Chicago, IL. Bill has two brothers, Walter and Richard and two sisters Lorette and Anita.
Bill’s first as a licensed Thoroughbred trainer in 1957 in Illinois. He owned and trained many horses.
Bill married Margaret Hyde on April 20, 1968 in Chicago, IL. After they married he retired from training and worked as Maintenance Superintendent for Kassube Development Corp. in Illinois comprising three large apartment complexes.
In 1971 opened the first tavern in Calumet Park, Maggies Klub, “Were famous for nothin” remodeled and very successfully sold in 1979 and opened second tavern The Stoppin Poynt remodeled and very successful upon selling in 1985 returned to training race horses in Illinois.
Bill joined the Loyal Order of the Moose Palmer, Alaska Lodge #793 on November 21, 1978.
Bill and his wife, Maggie came to Moosehaven on July 13, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie of Moosehaven, Orange Park, FL and brother Walter Lazuka, Richard Lazuka and sisters Loretta and Anita.
