William "Billy" Lee Farris, Jr.

William Lee Farris, Jr., 62, known to most as Billy, was born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 26, 1961 and passed away April 6, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family. 

Billy was a loving husband, proud father, loyal friend, and faithful servant of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a long-time member of the Dr’s Inlet Church of God. 

 Billy graduated with an associate degree in construction management and retired as a quality control manager from Hubbard Construction. He married Barbara June Cercy on April 6, 1991, and they enjoyed 33 years together. He was happiest when he was with his family and enjoyed fishing & taking nice long vacations. 

Billy is survived by his wife Barbara Farris, daughters Allison Farris, Hannah Farris (Alex) & Hope Farris, mother Beverly Newmans and brother John Newmans (Heather). 

He was preceded in death by his father William Farris Sr., brother Bobbie Farris, and grandson Asher Lee Mohrmann.

Billy always had a smile for everyone and was willing to lend a helping hand. He had a warm and loving personality that impacted those around him.  His family will remember him for his kindness and love. Billy will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30am on April 11, 2024, at the Drs. Inlet Church of God with Rev. Mitchell Snowden officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30am until service time. Interment will follow the service at Peoria Cemetery.
