Toby Grubbs

April 7, 1960 — February 6, 2023

Toby Franklin Grubbs, 62, a native of Green Cove Springs, Florida, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023. He was born on April 7, 1960 to Talmadge Grubbs and Glenda Williams. The beloved husband of June Grubbs and they shared 31 years of marriage. The father of two sons, Colby and Tyler Grubbs.

Toby was an easy-going man with a love for the outdoors, his animals and especially football season. His love and knowledge of football was unwavering. He was a graduate of Clay High School, where many knew him as a basketball legend. He was the president of the Green Cove Baseball Association for years where he coached and inspired many of our youth.

He worked 32 years with the railroad before retiring as a Material Supervisor for TTX Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Patty and mother-in-law, Cathy Buckhalter. He is survived by his beloved wife June Grubbs and his sons, Coby and Tyler Grubbs, brother, David Grubbs, sisters Rhonda Tucker and Melinda Grubbs, 5 nieces and 3 nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until service time.  Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery.
