Theodora "Teddy" Muyres

Theodora Muyres, age 81, of Fleming Island, FL passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. Teddy was born to Theodore and Margaret Pump on September 12, 1940 in Waseca, Minnesota and graduated from Pacelli High School in Austin, Minnesota.

Teddy married her husband, Thomas Muyres, on March 26, 1960 in Austin, Minnesota. They raised their four children in Austin and Rosemount, Minnesota. In the early days Teddy worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. While raising children, Teddy worked in the schools as a teacher’s aide, and in later years she worked for both of her sons for more than 20 years.

Teddy was a gifted crafter, and would try her hand at almost anything. She created countless treasures through the years, and loved working with her daughter and daughter-in-law to prepare for their craft shows.

Teddy’s greatest joy was found in time with family. She loved every get together, holiday celebration, and family meal. She made her rounds from house to house in her little red truck, and delighted in bringing treats to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She even taught history to her great-grandchildren every week for over two years.

Teddy was a constant source of joy and encouragement to all who knew her. She was the biggest cheerleader for her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She loved well, and the joy of Christ was on display no matter her circumstances.

Teddy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas Muyres; her four children Bill Muyres (Angela), David Muyres (Debbie), Julie Hemmer (Brad), and MaryJo Davis (Kevin); her thirteen grandchildren; and her 15 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, November 15, 2021 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Pastor Archie Jackson officiating.
