Susan Stobe, age 82, from Orange Park, FL, passed away on January 21, 2026. Susan was born to Robert & Jane Soukup on February 3, 1943 in Astoria, NY, where she resided into early adulthood and graduated from Queens College with a degree in Administration. She retired from Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology Associates in Orange Park, FL in 2005.
Susan was a member of the NADEP, NRA, St. Catherine’s Church Handy Crafts Group, Shepard Center of Orange Park, and Moose International. She also served for many years as a Lay Eucharistic Minister for Grace Anglican Church. Her passion for volunteering in these groups and other local ministries led to her being recognized as Volunteer of the Year in 2013.
Susan loved spending time in her garden, sewing, participating in the percussion section of the Clay County Community Band, listening to classical music, reading and traveling – most especially to visit dear friends in Arizona. She will be remembered by friends and family for her passion to always help those in need, including the care of many stray animals, for her compassion was without constraints. While her travel adventures and service pursuits were important to her, Susan’s greatest enjoyment was seeing each of her four grandchildren mature into young adults of outstanding character.
Susan was married to Richard Stobe for 32 years until his passing in 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Johnson (husband Larry and children Luke & Leyna), her son, Richard Stobe, Jr. (wife Jodi and children Josh & Vanessa), and her sister, Nancy Rich (husband Robbie and children Alexis & Evan).
Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 at 1:30 PM. Family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 PM in the Moosehaven Chapel at 1701 Park Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Susan Stobe’s honor to:
The Shepard Center of Orange Park and/or Clay County Safe Animal Shelter.
