Savannah Marie Matthews

Savannah Marie Matthews, 25, of Middleburg, FL won her battle on Monday, August 4th, 2025. Savannah was born February 27th, 2000 in Orange Park, FL to Tim and Sandy Matthews.

Savannah was a member of Lake Asbury Baptist Church, where she excitedly attended children’s church and Vacation Bible School. Taking every opportunity to share the gospel and God’s love with everyone, Savannah was confident in her love for Christ and her salvation.

A true Disney girl at heart, she believed in magic—not just the kind found in castles or fairy tales, but the real kind: in kindness, in love, in resilience, and in all the things that tie us together.

She loved her people fiercely—family, friends, caregivers, companions. If you were in her circle, you knew it. She didn’t hold back her affection, her laughter, or her opinions. She showed up fully and she loved deeply.

Savannah joins in heaven: her mother, Sandy Matthews; grandparents, Tedd Biggs, Jean Biggs, Ralph Matthews, Ollie Sullivan; uncle, Randy Biggs.

Savannah is survived by her daddy, Tim Matthews; grandmother, Jane Maida; aunts Erin Gwinn, Lisa (Kenny) Sweat, Liz (Nick) Gillman; and cousins Sarah, Madison, Mallory, Jude, Hannah, Emily, Caroline, and Lainey Joe. She also leaves behind a wide circle of friends and chosen family who will continue to feel her presence in laughter, in joy, and in every little reminder of magic she left behind.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday, August 8th 2025 at Lake Asbury Baptist Church and funeral services will begin at 11:00am with Pastor James Younis officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Following graveside services, everyone is invited to a reception at Lake Asbury Baptist Church.

In honor of Savannah’s love for Disney and celebrations, guests are encouraged to wear bright colors or their favorite Disney gear. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Savannah’s name may be made to Myotonic.org.

She was tough. She was kind. She is beloved.
