Sandra Lee McCarthy Wells, better known as Sandy, passed away September 29th, 2025. She was born January 29, 1944 to Edward (MAC) McCarthy & Esther (NANA) Fitzpatrick from Shelton Connecticut.

Sandy is the Widow of David Emery Wells of Green Cove Springs Florida. Sandy was preceded in death by her sister Esther (sparky) Zoppino (and Esthers’ late husband Donald ((Zippy)). She leaves behind 3 siblings, sister Betty-Anne Ogden (and her late husband Gino), Brother Edward (Butchy) McCarthy (and wife Linda), and brother Gordon (Moochie) McCarthy (and his wife Terri), 2 daughters, Theresa Matthews of Naugatuck Connecticut, and Dawn Czubik, of Seymour Connecticut. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sandy was a faithful servant of Jehovah since 1997.

Sandy enjoyed sharing her knowledge of baking and sewing with the younger generation. Sandy’s home was the gathering place for many events, and a refuge for many teenagers over the years. Sandy was known as being a person who was ready to lend a helping hand to any who were in need. Sandy will surely be missed by all that knew her.

Her memorial will be held on Saturday October 11th at 5pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Located at 17 Knight Boxx Rd, Orange Park, FL 32065.  For those who cannot make it, the memorial will be available on zoom.
