Rose Marie Colgate, of Green Cove Springs, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and kindhearted soul, passed away on April 24th, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love and generosity.

Born on May 27th, 1958, in Pensacola, Florida, Rose Marie was the beloved daughter of Pearly Irene and Robert Ford Nichelson. From an early age, she carried a compassionate spirit that would define her entire life.

Rose Marie was a proud and dedicated mother to her three children Robin Marie Christopher Garth, Grant Richardson, Jr., and Kimberly Richardson. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into ensuring they always felt supported, cared for, and deeply loved.

In 2006, she married Charles Colgate, her beloved husband of 19 years, with whom she shared a beautiful life of love and devotion. Together they built a partnership grounded in strength, and unwavering support, creating a lifetime of cherished memories side by side.

She was a loving grandmother to Morgan, Dillon, Blake, Emma, Isla, and Jayden, and a proud great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren, Gracelyn, Luca, and Mateo. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by her family, especially during her beloved Sunday dinners, which were filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness.

Rose had a heart that knew no limits. She gave freely and without hesitation, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her compassion extended beyond her family to all living things, especially animals.

To know Rose was to feel comfort, to feel seen, and to feel loved. She will be remembered for her radiant kindness, her joyful laughter, and the steady, unconditional love she gave so effortlessly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Ford Nichelson, and her two brothers, Robert Nichelson, Jr., and Ronald Nichelson.

Though she may no longer be here in presence, the love she poured into others will continue to live on, in every memory, every tradition, and every life she touched.

Rose Marie Colgate will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 17th at 2:00 PM at Sniktaw Farms, 2579 Russell Road, Green Cove Springs, Florida.
