Roselyn Marie Jones born to the late Mr. Emile Joseph Jones and living Mrs. Betty Jean Jones (formerly Betty Jean Humble), in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a military dependent child, she attended various schools in the U.S., finishing High School at Oxnard high school in Oxnard, California. From there she attended Lincoln University in Missouri with a basketball scholarship and later finished at California State University Northridge where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree.

She left California in 1986 after marrying her high school sweetheart Donald Farley, who was then an airman in the U.S. Air Force.

She attended several churches throughout her life before settling at Compass Worship Ministries. Roselyn was a lifelong servant of the Lord and helped with volunteer work with the women’s group at church.

Her passion for sports led her to working part time as a Referee for both K-12 and college sports (mainly basketball) for over 20 years.

On her 39th Wedding Anniversary, Roselyn departed life to be with our Lord on September 25, 2025.

She leaves behind her husband Donald Farley, daughter Mariah Soto; son Zechariah Farley; granddaughter Ava Sky Foster-Rollins; Grandson Ezra Soto; Son-in-law Harry Soto; Mother Betty Jones; Sisters Portia (Jones) Fomai and Angela (Jones) Gable; Brothers Christopher Jones and Demetreus Jones; and numerous Nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 2, 2025 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Pastor Harold D. Jackson, Sr. officiating.  The family will receive friends in the chapel from 10:00 am until service time.  Interment will take place at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 pm. (Assemble in Lane #2).
