Ronald Gene Thacker, Sr., 77, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away April 16, 2018.  He was born on September 13, 1940 in Grundy, VA to the late Hibbert and Amy (Looney) Thacker.  Ronald was a lifelong resident of the area who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and just riding around.  He was an awesome grandpa, a good man, a welder and just a plain old hard worker.  Ronald was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Thacker (Sandy), Mike Thacker (Laura) and Ronnie Thacker, Jr. (Rachel); daughters, Sherri Swilley (Gary) and Renee Watson; brother, Ralph Thacker (Betty); sister, Lucy Ashley (Jerry); 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:0pm on Friday, April 20, 2018 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Little Ruth Old Regular Baptist Church with Elder Terry Fuller and Brother Richard Lowe officiating.  Interment will follow in Little Ruth Cemetery.
