Richard Allen “Ricky” Moore Jr., age 64, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026 in Orange Park, FL following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on November 2, 1961, in Jacksonville, FL, Ricky lived a life full of craftsmanship, adventure and love.

Ricky was born at St. Vincent’s in Jacksonville and spent his early years there until the age of seven when his family moved to Orange Park, which became his lifelong home. He attended Doctors Inlet Elementary, Lakeside Middle School and then attended Orange Park High School.

He married his beloved wife, Teal Phillips, in 1982, and together they welcomed their son, Richard Allen Moore III, in 1983. Family was the cornerstone of Ricky’s life, and he cherished every moment spent with them, particularly his grandson, Hunter Allen Moore, who brought immense joy into his life.

Ricky had a deep passion for working with his hands, and his talent was evident in his extraordinary woodwork as a trim carpenter. He also dedicated many years to setting headstones for his mother’s company, Gross Monuments, working alongside his twin brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Albert Moore.

A man of simple pleasures, Ricky loved fishing. Though, in his younger days, he expressed himself through music as a drummer in a local band. His zest for life was also reflected in his bright orange 1973 Dodge Challenger, which he raced up and down the roads with unabashed enthusiasm.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Virginia Exum and Richard Allen Moore; his stepfather, John Elisha Gross; and his sister, Sandra Lee Mariani. He is survived by his cherished twin brother, Ronald Albert Moore; his dear sister, Cheryl Lynn Long; his devoted son, Robert Allen Moore III; and his adored grandson, Hunter Allen Moore.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel at 10:30am and services will begin at 11:00am with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating.

Ricky Moore was a man who lived fully and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew him.
