Richard L. (Dick) Broadus passed away on January 11, 2023. Dick was born on April 25, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents William and Novia (Heck) Broadus both of whom predeceased him in death. Dick and his family moved to Winter Haven, FL in the early 1970s where he worked as a data manager for Citrus World. He became actively involved with the Winter Haven Jaycees and served as their chapter president in 1975-76. He was later awarded lifetime membership as Senator #32201. Dick was also active in the Polk County Data Programming Managers Association.
In his later years, Dick became employed by Berry Industries eventually moving to their Labelle operation. His final employment prior to retirement was with Home Tech in Fort Myers still in the data management area.
In retirement, Dick was an avid golfer and enjoyed entertaining his friends in his comedic way to whom he was known as the “Dickster”. Dick is survived by his wife Cindy, sons David (Julie) and Dan (Tracy), five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at the family plot in the Vernon Cemetery, Vernon Indiana at 11 AM on January 18, 2023.
