Rayford Gann, 83, of Orange Park, Florida, passed away on March 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 21, 1942.
Rayford proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant after a distinguished military career. His service reflected his strong sense of duty, discipline, and commitment to others.
In addition to his military service, Rayford was deeply involved in his community and fraternal organizations. He was a devoted member of Black Pond Baptist Church. Rayford was also a dedicated Freemason, serving as a Master Mason of Cabul Lodge No. 116 for over 50 years and achieving the distinction of a 32nd Degree Mason with the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Jacksonville.
Rayford enjoyed the simple and meaningful moments in life. He loved spending time with family and friends, hosting Sunday cookouts, and working with his hands through carpentry. He was known for his steady presence, generous spirit, and the pride he took in caring for those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria; his children, Ronnie (Lynne), Lisa, and Joe (Divina); his stepdaughter, Christine (Chris); his stepson, Raimon; and his cherished grandchildren, Chloe, Carlie, Luke, Taylor, Logan, Luke, and Sebastian. He is also survived by his sister, Ruby.
Rayford was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel, father, Thomas, and his brothers, Ralph and Ray.
Rayford will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his country, his faith, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. His legacy of love, strength, and capable leadership will live on through the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2026 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Pastor Jason Brown officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel from 2:00 pm until service time.
Graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Please assemble in Lane #3 at the cemetery.
