In loving memory,
Rafaela Baena González Hon, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, in Orange Park, Florida. She was born on April 2, 1932, in Córdoba, Spain, to Ricardo Baena Jover and Rafaela González Laguna.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Arthur Lee Hon; her dear sons and their spouses, Luis Albert Hon (Charlene) and David Hon Sr. (Darlene); her cherished grandchildren and their spouses, David Hon Jr. (Christina) and Rachel Houghton (William); and her great-grandchildren, Logan Hon, Owen Hon, Melanie Houghton, and Wesley Houghton, who were a constant source of joy and pride in her life.
Known lovingly as Rafi, she was a proud and devoted military spouse for 30 years, as well as a dedicated mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was caring for her family. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and faithfully rooting for the Tampa Bay Rays. Rafaela was a remarkable woman who will always be remembered for her sacrifices, resilience, love, and generosity.
Rafaela will be laid to rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida February 6, 2026.
