Patricia (Pat) Thornton passed peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2019 surrounded by family. Born on November 20, 1940 in Jacksonville and raised in Mandarin, Pat’s favorite hobbies were fishing and flower gardening. She loved surrounding herself with family and always jumped at the chance to teach others about fishing and growing flowers. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Merrill Adrian Imus, Sr. and Lena Estell Grosse, and siblings, Eva Mae Hall, Bobbie Jean Durden and Merrill Adrian Imus, Jr.

She is survived by her sisters, Priscilla Thornton, Cecelia Gann, Tinker Chesser and Gail Steverson; children, Toni Thompson (Gerald), Ronnie Thornton, Jr., Kimberly Stratton, Joel Thornton and David Thornton; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, March 25, 2019 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating.  The family will receive friends at 10:00am prior to the service.
