Nancy Christine Swenson, 84, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, surrounded by family. Nancy was born in Rockford, Illinois, and graduated from East High School, where she served as secretary of her senior class. It was there that she met the love of her life, Bruce Swenson. They later married and started a family together. Nancy and Bruce moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 1971. They started a business, originally called Swenson & Associates. It became Swenson & Swenson in 1986 when their son Shane joined. Nancy played an integral role, managing the office and coordinating key aspects of the business. Nancy, also known as “Turtle” to many, loved spending time with family at Churchill Downs in Louisville. For many years, she and Bruce hosted their children’s college friends for the Kentucky Derby. It was her favorite time of year. She was also an avid University of Kentucky sports fan. For many years, Nancy ran the junior golf program at Hunting Creek Country Club and volunteered at her grandchildren’s schools. She also supported First Tee in St. Augustine and Operation Christmas Child. In her spare time, she crafted beautiful pinecone Christmas trees for friends, teachers, and neighbors, always thinking of others. Her generosity was unending.

Nancy touched so many lives, bringing joy and cheer wherever she went. She truly cared about everyone and loved her family and friends deeply. Her beautiful, kind, and giving spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Fred C. Olson Jr. and Lillian Olson; her brother, Fred C. Olson III; her sister, Joan Olson; and her grandparents, Fred C. Olson and Marie Stollar. She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Swenson of St. Augustine, Florida; daughter Shelli (Jonathan) West of Green Cove Springs, Florida; and son Shane (Laura) Swenson of Ponte Vedra, Florida. She is also survived by her granddaughter Lindsi (Nick) Dreger and her grandsons Logan (Allison) Swenson, Lucas Swenson, Garrett (gf Leighann) West, and Gage West, as well as her great-grandchildren Riley, Charli, Rory, Nash, and Nolan. Nancy, aka “Turtle,” cherished time with her family and made it a priority to create experiences that made each of them feel loved and special.
