Michael “Mike” Davis Lane, age 69, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away on February 6, 2026.

Mike was born on November 27, 1956, in Jacksonville, Florida, to William and Vera Lane.

Together, Mike and Lorrie Lane raised two sons, Michael and Chris, and shared many years of family and memories.

Mike spent his life working with his hands and his heart. With the mind of an engineer, he could fix or build just about anything and helped others without hesitation.

He will be remembered by family and friends for his caring heart and his love of hunting, fishing, racing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone he knew. His circle of friends was wide, built over a lifetime of showing up for others. He never missed an event, whether it was a graduation, a holiday, a sports game, or a birthday party. He was always there and never failed to show up for those he loved. Affectionately known as “Papa Mike,” he was a fixture in the lives of many who knew and loved him.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vera Lane, and his sister, Bobby.

He is survived by his sons, Robert Michael Lane (Lisa) and Chris Lane (Miranda); and his grandchildren, Lane (Abbe), Reagan, and Autumn; sisters, Yvonne, Jackie, Kristy, and Annette. He is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

“Papa Mike could do anything, except not help someone.”

A viewing for Mike will be held on Thursday, February 12th in the Broadus-Raines Chapel from 6-8pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date, please check back for details.
