Michael John "Mike" Borkowski, 75, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on February 2, 1951, in Erie, Pennsylvania, Mike lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his country, and those around him. Mike had a very goofy and playful personality, his favorite saying was “its in the mail.” He loved to laugh and joke around. He enjoyed fishing and doing woodwork in his spare time.

Mike proudly served in the United States Military for over 20 years, retiring with distinction as a Chief Petty Officer. His commitment to service reflected his deep sense of responsibility and care for others—a quality that extended far beyond his military career. Known for his generous spirit and willingness to help whenever he could, Mike touched the lives of many with his kindness and unwavering support.

Family was at the heart of Mike's life. He is survived by his beloved mother, Margaret Borkowski; his 3 brothers Richie, Leonard, Donald, and 3 sisters, Linda, Carol, and Cindy; and his four daughters: Kathy Nance (Joseph), Kay Killman (Mike), Mary Hart (Jeremy), and Michele Eggleton (Billy). He was a proud grandfather to Courtney, John, Scott, Alysa, Jeremy Jr., Jacob, Kaydence, Kamber, Kyalie, Katelynn, and Dixie. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren Felicity, Auron, Drake, and Claire.

Mike was preceded in death by his father Leonard Borkowski; his brother David; and his wife Mary Ann Lee Borkowski. Their memories remained close to him throughout his life. Mike’s love for his family was boundless. He cherished every moment spent with them and found joy in their accomplishments and happiness. His caring nature left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Graveside services will be held on Friday March 20th at 12:00PM at Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
