Melvin “Joe” Caddell passed away on February 9, 2026, leaving behind a life full of love, loyalty, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Born on May 18, 1940, Joe lived a life defined not by grand gestures, but by the quiet, steady commitment he gave to the people he loved most, especially his wife.

Joe married the love of his life, Louise Caddell, on April 14, 1962. From that day forward, he made it his personal mission to treat her like the queen she is. And he did, every single day. Joe was deeply committed to his wife, proudly devoted, and never shy about showing it. If Louise needed something, anything, Joe was already on it… or at least already explaining how he was about to be on it.

He would have done absolutely anything for that woman, and everyone who knew him knew it. Their love was the kind that didn’t need to be loud, it was constant, dependable, and unmistakable.

Joe had a way of making people feel at ease, often with a well-timed comment, a subtle grin, or humor that snuck up on you when you least expected it. He was a loving man through and through, steady in his values, loyal to a fault, and deeply proud of the life he built.

While his absence leaves a space that can never be filled, his legacy lives on in the love he gave, the devotion he modeled, and the memories that will continue to bring smiles, even through tears.

Joe would likely say not to make too big of a fuss… but he’d secretly be pleased knowing he was remembered for what mattered most: loving his wife fiercely and living his life with heart.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 13, 2026 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Dr. Ron Baker officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel from 2:00 pm until service time. Graveside services will be private.
