Melissa Anne Amason of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away during the night of January 20, 2024 at home.  

Melissa was born September 7, 1971, in Green Cove Springs, FL.  She lived most of her life in Jacksonville, Green Cove Springs, and Neptune Beach, FL.  Melissa spent 25 years as a Sales Manager with Ranstad in Jacksonville and 12 years as a Operation Manager for a local company in Orange Park, FL.  

She played softball and was a cheerleader in elementary school. She skied up and down Black Creek and she was on a woman’s softball league in Orange Park.  She was preceded in death her grandparents, Bill & Jenny Amason and Harry & Mary Kelsey.

Melissa is survived by her father, Ron J. Amason; her mother, Joyce Thornton; her brother, Mike Amason; her sister, Ashley Amason; her sisters-in-law, Rose Carter and Debbie Peavy; and her uncle, Dr. Tom Kelsey.

Melissa had many friends especially “Bucky” her pound puppy of 15 years, who passed away just two months before her.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, February 10, 2024 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Chaplain Brent Beaird officiating.
