Martin D. Owens, LFD, age 77, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019. He was born on August 29, 1942 in Crescent, GA to the late Edward R. and Jeannette (Baggs) Owens. Martin came to the area in 1961 and was a member of Wayside Assembly of God Church. He was extremely proud of being a Licensed Funeral Director and served in the funeral industry since 1961. He mentored many up and coming funeral directors over many years along with mentoring in the Big Brother Organization. Martin proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed traveling, loved his animals and had the best sense of humor. Martin was a beloved brother, uncle, companion and Funeral Director who will be missed by all who knew him.

Martin is survived by his sister, Edwardine Welty (John); brother, Wayne Owens (Karen); love-of-his-life, Phyllis Lewis; nephews, Justin and Ashley; and nieces, Laura and Vicki.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Wayside Assembly of God Church and funeral services will start at 1:00pm with Pastor Wade Mask, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
