Martha O. Jones

July 21, 1931 – September 13, 2022.

Martha O. Jones was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Zebual G Jackson and Myrtle Jewel Jackson on July 21, 1931.  She went to school at Kirby Smith and Andrew Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zebual and Myrtle Jewel Jackson, and her three brothers, Charles Jackson, Melvin Jackson and Dorsey Jackson.

Martha, married Paul J Rodgers May 16, 1947, and they have eight living children:

Paul J. Rodgers, Jr. (Janet), Michael D. Rodgers (Gloria), Donna Rodgers Grohman (Randy), Richard Emmett Rodgers (Gail), Fletcher W. Rodgers (Janice), David A. Rodgers (Karen), Martha Rodgers Turner (Gerald), and Timothy Mark Rodgers (Nellie).

She married John P. Jones, who is now deceased and later she married Robert Wayne Stanton, who

is now deceased.

Martha has 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Martha loved going to church and hearing the old hymns, and she loved working out in the yard with her flowers and her special dog, Bear.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at CrossPointe Church with Dr. Ron Baker officiating.  Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
