Marie "Sam" Giannini (Martini), aged 84, passed away on May 1, 2026, in Orange Park, Florida surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 6, 1941, in Englewood, New Jersey, Marie lived a vibrant life filled with unforgettable moments that left a lasting impression on those who knew her. Marie grew up in Palisades Park, New Jersey and relocated to Florida permanently in 1979. Marie had been married to her husband Vito for more than 60 years and was looking forward to being reunited with him in Heaven.

Marie was a Jersey girl, through and through, never losing her accent even after 47 years of living in Florida. Marie was known for her sharp wit and lively personality. She was smart, feisty, chatty, and opinionated—qualities that endeared her to many. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures such as watching Jeopardy!, puzzle books, smoking cigarettes and spending hours on the phone, connecting with loved ones up and down the East Coast. Marie enjoyed going to the senior center and crafting with the ladies.

Marie is survived by her loving family: her brother Frank (Diane); sisters Marilyn (Albert) and Virginia (Gary); her son Jack (Karen); and daughters Lisa (Dale) and Laura (John). She selflessly took on the role of parent to her grandson Nicholas, when he was seven years old. Known as "Nanny," she was cherished by her seven grandchildren and 6 (plus one on the way) great-grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by parents Nicholas and Virginia Martini, her husband Vito, her son Joseph, and her grandson Dakota. Her family will forever hold dear the memories they created together and the unique spirit she brought into their lives.

A memorial service will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel at 11:00am on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 with Pastor Christian Pope officiating.

Though she is no longer with us, Marie's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
