Lynda Dapra, 65, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away on September 1, 2025.
Born to John McGready and Gloria DePuy on November 2, 1959, in Newburgh, NY, she graduated from Cornwall Central High School. She later moved to Jacksonville and worked in Administration & Credit/Finance at Benjamin Moore & Co. for 34 years.
Lynda married Don Dapra on July 11, 1998. After losing her husband four years ago, she hosted The Dapra charity event in his memory, which raised scholarship money for Clay High School Tennis Team members.
She had many hobbies, a keen sense of style, and a love for fashion, often seen in her signature hats and boots. She adored hosting gatherings in her home, especially during Christmas, earning her the affectionate nickname, the Crazy Christmas Lady. Lynda had a kind, giving heart, and her cooking and hosting were cherished by everyone.
Her incredible gardening skills won the Yard of the Month award. She was a passionate football and baseball fan, particularly of the Jaguars and the New York Yankees. Her love of photography led her to travel widely, including trips to St. Kitts, Hawaii, England, Ireland and her beloved Aruba.
Lynda cherished her hometown of Cornwall, NY, and the Hudson Valley, especially in the fall. As a child, she enjoyed camping trips and was a successful swimmer. Her open-heart surgery at age seven inspired her to live life to the fullest. Lynda's smile, sense of humor, and infectious laugh will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her stepson, Matthew Dapra, and siblings, Bobby McGready, Jimmy McGready (Mechele), Jay McGready (Cindy), Brian McGready (Begoña), and Colleen McGready (Spade), 11 Nieces & Nephews, 20 Grand Nieces & Nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don Dapra; her parents, Gloria DePuy and John McGready; and her brother, Kevin McGready.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday October 10th, 2025, at Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club located at 3670 Clubhouse Dr, Green Cove Springs, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Lynda's beloved charity event "The Dapra 5.0" . All funds raised will go to supporting the boys and girls tennis team at Clay High in memory of Lynda & Don. VENMO: @magnoliapointtennis
