Lorene Tarpley Minton was born on May 12, 1918 in Wilkinson County, Georgia. She was a resident at River Garden Senior Services in Jacksonville, Florida. Lorene was a long-time member of Beulah Baptist Church in Fruitland, Florida. She also resided in Dublin, Savannah, and Folkston, Georgia; as well as Jacksonville and Fruitland, Florida.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jim Henry; daughter Janice Elkins; and sons James and Billy Minton. She is survived by her daughters Terersa Kellum (Byron) of Bostwick, Florida and Lisa Fraser of Palatka, Florida; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am-11:00am on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Beulah Baptist Church in Fruitland, Florida. The funeral service will follow at 11:00am with Reverend Ron Baker officiating. The interment will follow the funeral service at 2:30pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Welaka.
