Lois Evelyn (Flick) Woodward, 91, of Orange Park, FL peacefully went to be with the Lord Friday, April 17, 2026.

She was born to Clarence and Minnie (Fennel) Flick on June 7, 1934, in Fenelton, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Butler, Pennsylvania.

She was graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts with a bachelor’s degree in biology in 1956. She was valedictorian of her class.

She met the love of her life, Arthur, from Beals, Maine while on a blind date along with her college roommate. He was her roommate’s date, but all was amicably resolved. Lois and Arthur were married on October 19, 1956, in Butler, Pennsylvania, and enjoyed a long and happy marriage of almost 64 years. They resided in New Jersey and Massachusetts, and had two children, Ann and Steve.

She taught 6th grade in Spotswood, New Jersey, then was a homemaker. She worked for several years in the Registrar’s office at Eastern Nazarene College.

Having served the Lord since her youth, Lois and Art were active members of the Church of the Nazarene in Wollaston, Massachusetts. After moving to Orange Park in 2017 they enjoyed attending Orange Park Methodist Church.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and a dear friend to many. She enjoyed traveling with Arthur and their friends, and especially enjoyed New Hampshire and Cape Cod. They visited Canada, Mexico, and Europe. She was a wonderful cook, and for a time studied cake decorating. She collected china teacups and miniature spoons, and often displayed a charming Dickens Village at Christmas. She did needlework, including crewel, crocheting, sewing and rug hooking. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Eugenia Price books, playing the piano, and a good game of Rummikub. She was a member of the Moose, and the Beals Historical Society.

Lois was loved and well taken care of by the wonderful assisted living staff and residents of Moosehaven in Orange Park after Arthur’s passing in 2020, and she liked to take car rides, attend church, eat out, have visitors, and spend holidays with family. She shared her quick wit and sense of humor with all!

She is survived by her daughter, Ann (Woodward) Tabor (married to John Tabor) of Fleming Island, FL, her son, A. Steven Woodward (married to Kim Sheets Woodward) of Snellville, GA, and her grandchildren, Lindsay Tabor Roberts (married to Rhett Roberts) of Fleming Island, FL, Brooke Tabor of St. Augustine, FL, Julie Woodward of Snellville, GA and Micheal Woodward of Alpharetta, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, her infant grandson, Jonathan Woodward, and her beloved granddaughter, Jessica Woodward.

She will be buried in a private service on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, next to Arthur. Dr. Charles Lever, Senior Pastor of Orange Park Methodist Church, will officiate. A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled in Orange Park in the near future.

In lieu of sending flowers, the family suggests a donation in memory of Lois Woodward to:
