Linda Gayle Daughtry Brake—a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, and a faithful woman of God.

Linda Gayle was born on February 18, 1944, to her parents Ruth Jacobs and Judson Daugherty. She grew up surrounded by family and shared life with her five sisters: Dolores, Laverne, Yvonne, Kathy, and Edwina. Those early years helped shape the caring and loving woman that so many of us came to know and cherish.

On November 25, 1960, Linda married the love of her life, Larry Brake. Their marriage was a beautiful example of love, loyalty, and commitment. Together they built a life centered around family, faith, and devotion to one another. Just recently they celebrated 65 years of marriage, a remarkable milestone that reflected a lifetime of love and faithfulness.

Linda was more than just Larry’s wife—she was his partner, his encourager, and the heart of their home.

She was also a devoted mother to her three children: Terri, Trudy, and Larry. Her love continued to grow as her family expanded. She was blessed with four grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren, with two more on the way. Nothing brought Linda more joy than seeing her family grow and spending time with those she loved so dearly.

Linda had many wonderful talents. She loved singing, and her voice often filled the room with warmth and joy. She was also gifted with her hands and enjoyed sewing, creating things with care and love. Whatever she did, she did it with dedication and heart.

But above all, Linda loved being a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. Her family was her greatest blessing and her greatest pride.

Most importantly, Linda was a faithful woman of God. Her faith guided her life and the way she loved and cared for others. She trusted in the Lord and lived her life as a reflection of His goodness and grace.

The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 31:28:

"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her."

That verse beautifully describes Linda’s life and the legacy she leaves behind.

Though our hearts are heavy today, we also find comfort knowing that Linda has finished her race and is now resting in the presence of the Lord she loved and trusted all her life.

Her love, faith, and kindness will live on through her husband Larry, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.

Linda Gayle Daugherty Brake will always be remembered as a loving wife to Larry, a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and a faithful servant of God.

And while we say goodbye for now, we hold onto the promise that one day we will see her again.
