Lester Eugene "Gene" Wilson

Lester Eugene Wilson (Gene), 95 years of age, Middleburg, FL passed away on August 28, 2025 at 7:20 pm. He was born in Coalfield, TN to Cora Elizabeth and Charles Houston Wilson on July 13, 1930. He graduated from Coalfield High School. Gene enlisted in the Army, following his older brothers, Kenneth and Glenn. His career of 30 years was with the Seaboard/Coastline Railroad (CSX now). 

Gene enjoyed sports his entire life and with his brother Glenn especially followed the University of Tennessee Volunteers. Gene and his wife Lola Faye were members of Middleburg First Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by parents, Geraldine Davis (sister), Kenneth (brother), Elmer (brother), Edwin (brother), Glenn (brother). He is survived by children Vicki Shoopman (daughter), Greg Wilson (son) Gaby Mendhi, Dwight Wilson (son), granddaughters Kari Shoopman, Trey Tucker, Carla Weber, Patrick Weber, Katie Wilson, Great Grandchildren Tessa Tucker, Anne Tucker, Ruth Weber, Jayden Clark, wife Lola Faye, Step daughters Debbie Foster, Steve Foster, Diane Davis, Step Grandchildren Lindsey Fell, Ryan Farwell, Brittany Peace, Darren Davis, and Special Friend Charlotte Soto.
