Kristi Powell Wahl, age 67, passed away February 12, 2024, after a courageous two- and half-year battle with cancer. She was born to Robert Powell and Nancy Wood Powell on January 17th, 1957, in Wheat Ridge, CO. She graduated from the University of Oregon in 1982 with a Bachelors in Geography. In 2016, Kris met the last love of her life, Don Allen Wahl, whom she married in 2018.
Don introduced Kris to her very special church family at Orange Park Methodist Church, where she regularly attended Sunday school and recently became a member of the church’s Board of Trustees.
Kris was an avid animal lover, especially her special kitties. She loved traveling early on, venturing across Europe during a break from college with a friend. She discovered a mutual love for camping, which fueled her passion for history, with her husband, Don. She had a passionate interest in politics, and a keen eye for detail that earned her the title of “Miss Picky” by her team at her store, Seriously Suited.
Kris is known for her empathy and her compassion, never meeting a stranger. She was fun loving, always ready for the next adventure, shopping trip or celebration, and was a dear friend to many.
Kris was preceded in death by; her mother, Nancy Wood Powell, and her previous husband, Scott Caswell Turner, to whom she was happily married for 17 years, as well as Don Wahl, who also succumbed to cancer in 2021.
