Katrina Suzanne
Griffis
July 14, 1982 – February 21, 2026
Katrina “Trina” Suzanne Austin, age 43, of Clay Hill, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, at the comforting home of her parents, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 14, 1982.
Trina devoted fourteen years of her life working at the Clay County Courthouse. It was a job she loved with coworkers she cherished, until her health no longer allowed her to continue. Despite her illnesses, Trina remained deeply involved with her family and those she loved, always reaching out, staying connected, and making herself present in their lives.
Above all else, Trina was a devoted mother. Her son, Weston, was the center of her world. Her love for him was constant and unconditional.
Trina was quick-witted and had a sharp sense of humor, often finding laughter even in difficult moments. She had a playful side and could be delightfully aggravating, knowing exactly which buttons to push, and often with a grin. She was God-fearing, deeply appreciative, and never failed to thank someone for even the smallest act of kindness shown to her.
She cherished her family, especially her close bond with her only sibling and brother, Brandon. She adored all of her nieces and nephews. Trina enjoyed shopping, especially on her phone and at the Snooty Fox/Closet, who became like family to her. She shared a special closeness with her momma, enjoying pedicures and other fun things together. She also had a very close bond with her daddy, as well as her uncle, Little Farley.
Trina was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Big Farley and Mattie Belle Austin, and her loving aunt, Kristina Austin.
She is survived by her son, Weston Nolan Wheeler; her parents, Marion and Natalie Austin; her grandparents, Gigi and Papa John and Grandma Alice Pass; her brother, Brandon Austin, and his wife, Briana; her nephews, Bryce Austin and Ty Hall; her nieces, Alivia Belle Austin and Ember Hall; her uncle, Farley Austin; her cousins, Jeremy Austin and Paula Austin Lloyd; and her best friends, Tiffany Hatcher, Leslie Brooke, Cassie Cress, and Nancy Utech.
Trina will be remembered for her love of the Lord and her family, her sense of humor, her gratitude, and her generous heart. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on through all whose lives she touched.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Clay Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am with Dr. Rick Crews officiating. Burial will follow at Long Branch Cemetery.
