Kathleen Cole Gomez, beloved daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend, born on August 3, 1950, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at the age of 74.
Kathleen was affectionately known as Kathy and ZiZi Kathy. She was born into a large and loving Italian family; she cherished every moment spent with those she loved. Her roots were grounded in tradition, and her life was centered on family, faith, and service to others. Known affectionately as “the fun aunt,” a title she embraced wholeheartedly and lived up to with joy, laughter, and love.
A devout catholic, Kathy’s faith guided her in all things. Her grace, empathy, and unwavering trust in God were evident in the way she lived and loved. Even in times of personal hardship, her belief never wavered.
She was a gifted sculptor whose work reflected her deep bond with nature and spirituality. Her love of gardening and travel inspired her elegant style and constant search for beauty. Beyond her talents, she had a rare gift for caregiving—offering her time and heart selflessly. She was the heart of her family, a loyal friend, and a guiding light.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Gomez Jr.; her parents, Jean DiCamillo Cole and Edward H. Cole; her grandparents, Rose and Frank DiCamillo and Catherine R. Cole; and her brother-in-law, Salvatore P. Pernaci.
Kathleen is survived by her loving sisters, Joann M. Pernaci and Regina R. Huni (Carl); her nieces and nephews, Suzanne Pernaci Groover (Jeremy), Craig Pernaci (Whitney), Cindy Victorelli (Matt), and Anthony Newsholme; and her great-nieces and nephews: Morgan Groover (Blake), Emily Groover, Gianna Pernaci, Camilla Pernaci, Lucca Pernaci, Brittani Victorelli, and Hunter Victorelli.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her creativity, her faith, and her unconditional love for family. Kathy is now at peace, reunited with loved ones, and in the eternal embrace of God.
