June E. Rees

December 21, 1932 — April 13, 2022

June E. Rees, of Middleburg, Florida passed away on April 13th, 2022.  June was born to Emery and Florence Texter on December 21, 1932 in Hackensack, New Jersey.  She lived in Kearny, New Jersey until graduation from Kearny High School in 1950. June was married to George W. Rees for 35 years. He passed away in 1992.

Prior to moving to Florida, June and her family lived in Jackson, New Jersey for over 30 years. She was a Document Control Supervisor for the Margaretten Mortgage Company where she worked for over 20 years. While in Jackson, June was an avid bowler and even bowled a 300 game.

June moved to Middleburg, Florida in 1993. She worked for the Clay County Library System for many years and was a volunteer at the Orange Park Medical Center for twenty years.  June was a member of the Middleburg Presbyterian Church.  She was a voracious reader and member of the Friends of the Middleburg Library.  She had a green thumb and her plants and flowers were beautiful.  She had been a member of the Middleburg Garden Club.

June loved to travel. Her favorite trip was to Egypt but she also visited countries in Europe, South America, Central America and Africa. These trips included a trip by river across Europe, a photo safari in Africa, a river cruise down the Amazon River and to many Pacific islands

She is survived by her daughter Lynn Peaslee, her son Kurt Rees both of Middleburg, Florida and her son Scott Rees of St Petersburg, Florida.  Also surviving her are her grandchildren Michael Henderson and Caitlyn Brooke, and her great grandchildren Derrick and Anastasia Henderson.
