Listen to Obituary

Judith Gaye Jones was born July 19, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, to Howard and Beatrice Easterman. She was married to her beloved husband Jim Jones for 63 years and passed away on Aug 19, 2026.

Judy was so many things to so many people - dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, painter, mentor, nurse, photographer and lifelong friend. She was loved by so many and impacted countless lives.

She will be remembered for her warm spirit, her deep friendships, a quick sense of humor, numerous paintings that hang in her house and in the houses of her family and friends, deep conversations and time spent with people she loved. She was a prolific painter, masterful knitter with an adventurous spirit, traveling the world, living abroad, racing sailboats, doing yoga and an avid reader.

She is survived by her husband Jim, her sister Janet, 3 sons, Jeffrey, John and his wife Patricia, Jamison and his wife Lisa, 9 grandchildren, Lauren (and husband Peter), Ian (and fiancé Liam), Olive, Christopher, Daniel, Katherine, Nicole (and husband Antonio), Aidan, Anna, 3 great-grandchildren and 2 nieces, Julie (and husband Ernie), Rebecca (and husband Dennis).

She was an artist in all things and had a young childlike wonder - she made room for everyone she met. She remembered every person’s name. Nothing she loved was ever loved lightly (or quietly). Anywhere she went was better from the gift of her presence and she was loved by many.

She will be deeply missed and eternally loved - we all celebrate her life.
