Judith Carol Freehan

Judith Carol Freehan, lovingly known as Carol, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Penney Farms, Florida. Her life was one of kindness, dedication, and creativity, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Carol was born on December 27, 1943, at the Naval Hospital in Chelsea, Massachusetts, to her devoted parents, Frank and Edith Freehan. The family lived in Lynn, Massachusetts, where Carol grew up and attended Lynn English High School. After graduating, she pursued further education at the School of Stenography in Boston, setting the foundation for her lifelong career.

Carol began her professional journey working for the American Baptist Council in Boston under Dr. Orlando Tibbets. When the council relocated to Hartford, Connecticut, Carol took a brief job at a bank in Boston. However, her connection to Dr. Tibbets remained strong, and when he offered her the opportunity to rejoin the Baptist Council in Hartford, she eagerly accepted and moved to Connecticut. Carol found great fulfillment in her work there, and her dedication to the council and Dr. Tibbets was unwavering.

Though Carol never married, her life was rich with relationships and passions. She had a love for traveling, sewing, and creating beautiful dolls. She cherished summers spent at camp in Maine and treasured the time she spent with her cousins. Beyond her hobbies, Carol’s devotion to family was evident in the care she provided for her father after her mother’s passing, making countless trips between Hartford and Lynn to support him.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and several beloved aunts and uncles. She leaves behind a close-knit and loving family, including her three brothers: Paul, Alan and his wife Marcaline, and Stephan and his wife Deborah. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Carol’s life was one of quiet strength, boundless generosity, and heartfelt connections. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the lives of those she touched.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to PRC Residence Aid Fund, PO Box 555, Penney Farms, FL 32079, in her name.

Thank You, The Freehan Family.
