Joyce Elaine Dugger, born September 11, 1952, passed away on October 10, 2025, surrounded by love and family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marlowe Dugger; her parents, Leonard and Lorene Holland; and four siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Hope Leak and her husband Bradford; her stepson, Gwinn Dugger and his wife Brittany; and four cherished grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
Joyce made her home in Green Cove Springs, Florida, for over 30 years, where she built lasting friendships and poured her heart into community service. For the past year and a half, she lived in Woodstock, Georgia, close to family who treasured their time together.
A woman of strength, spirit, and generosity, Joyce gave much of her time and heart to her community. She volunteered with St. Johns River College, the Palatka Art League, the Bostwick Community, and the Master Gardeners. Known for her warm personality and the way she “never met a stranger,” Joyce touched countless lives with her kindness, creativity, and open heart.
Joyce’s strong Christian faith guided her throughout her life. She found comfort and purpose in her relationship with the Lord, and her faith shone through in the way she loved and served others.
She will be remembered as a feisty and strong woman who loved deeply and lived with a fierce devotion to her family, faith, and community. Her legacy of love, service, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.
The family wishes to thank everyone for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this time.
