John Mark Swan, born March 12, 1938, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024. Born to parents Ulysses G. and Freddie B. Swan of Memphis, TN. Married 60 years to wife, Etrenda Swan of Mendes, GA. After serving dutifully in the United States Navy aboard the USS Forrestal aircraft carrier, John worked for Bingham Coffee for many years. Later going on to fulfill his favorite job of all, taking care of his grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday morning crossword, gardening, and spending time with family. John will be remembered as a kind, humble, hardworking man with a generous heart who never let anything go to waste, since you might need it one day. Preceded in death by his wife (Etrenda), two brothers (Bobby and Jimmy), and three sisters (Ruth, Joy, and Linda). Survived by daughter (Cindi) and grandchildren (Garrison and Alison). John will be laid to rest in the Jacksonville National Cemetery with his beloved, Etrenda. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
