John Kenneth Dembowski

October 18, 1946 — September 3, 2022

John Kenneth Dembowski, 75, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022. He was born to John and Laura Ridgeway Dembowski on October 18, 1946, in Johnstown, PA. John graduated from the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque and retired as a Lieutenant Commander from the United States Navy, after 26 years of service.  He then continued his career as an engineer with Ratheon, Bell Helicopter, Kay Corporation, and Chrysler Aerospace. He was a member of the Black Pond Baptist Church in Middleburg, FL.

John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, neighbor, and friend.  His sense of humor was dry, witty, and ever-present.  Hardly an hour passed in John's life that he did not have a joke on hand -- even if it wasn't funny.  He served many dedicated years protecting our country, stationed on aircraft carriers and U.S. military bases around the world.  In retirement, the highlights of his weeks were the hours he would spend talking with his wife Judith, caring for their home, visiting with neighbors, or playing videogames with his boys.  He will be remembered as the best of men and proudest of Americans.

John was preceded by both of his parents and is survived by his wife Judith; sister-in-law Glenda Davis; and sons John Stephen of Jacksonville, FL, Larry Charles of Rockville, MD, and Glenn William ("Scooter") of Austin, TX; as well as three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Black Pond Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Charlie Hunt officiating.  The graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
