Joe Francisco Solsona III, 77, of Green Cove Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026. He was born on December 9, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas, to June Lee Marchbanks and Joe Francisco Solsona, Jr.

Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Holly Ledbetter Solsona; his children, Andrea Chaput (Derek), and Cy Solsona; his sisters, Debbie Solsona and Joani Mayes; his brother, Jason Solsona; and his cherished grandchildren, Mason, Rylan, and Hunter. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lee Ledbetter II (Joanne), Editha Lavandera (Jesus), and Greta Peterson (David), along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Joe had a deep and abiding passion for helping veterans. He was the founder and Executive Director of the National Association of Veterans and Families (NAVF), where he and his dedicated staff worked tirelessly to cut through bureaucratic red tape to secure the benefits promised to senior wartime veterans in exchange for their service. Through this work, countless veterans and their spouses received lifelong monthly assistance for protected care environments, such as assisted living facilities, making a profound and lasting difference in their quality of life.

Joe also found great joy in skeet shooting and the lifelong friendships it brought him. He began shooting registered targets in December 1984 and went on to shoot an impressive 174,375 registered targets. He proudly served as an NSSA Director for Florida from 2019 to 2022 and especially cherished the Zone Shoot and his annual trips to San Antonio for the World Shoot.
