Jess “Ron” Vargo, 85 yrs old, passed away May 23, 2023.  He was born to Emery and Elsie Vargo on December 8, 1937.

Ron graduated from Indiana Tech, and Manatee Junior College, was in the Air Force 1958 – 1962, worked at Albany Marine Corps Logistics Base and married Evelyn Vargo. He went to St. Teresa’s Catholic Church for 44 yrs. His hobbies were loving his family and grandkids. He also loved photography, ham radios and playing Xbox games with all his grandkids. Ron will be remembered for his sense of humor, helping people and volunteering in the community. Survived by his wife Evelyn Vargo; children Doug Vargo, Cindy Chappell, and Wendy Wheeler and four grandkids Paden Vargo, Jessie Vargo, Stephanie Townsend and Andrew Wheeler.

A memorial service will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 15, 2023 with Fr. Michael Pendergraft officiating.  

Graveside service will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2023 with military honors.  Please assemble in Lane #2.
