Jerry Coon, 67, Green Cove Springs, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. He was born August 17, 1951 in Florala, Alabama. Mr. Coon was a long time heavy equipment operator. Jerry was an avid outdoors man, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jerry also enjoyed life spending time with family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Zack Thomas Coon and Aleana Spears Coon, his wife, Sherry Diane Coon, older brother Tom Coon, brother in laws Marcus Grant and Alton Spain, and his beloved dog Heidi Ho.

He is survived by his son, Marcus Stephen Coon (Laurie), daughter Casey Marie Coon. Grandchildren: Kaden Thomas Coon and Michael Wesley LaRue, sisters Rebecca Spain and Delores Chipman (Ron). Brother Eugene “Gene” Coon (Joyce) and Jerry’s twin brother Jack Coon (Brenda) and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive family & friends, Tuesday August 20, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home, Green Cove Springs, Florida. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday August 21, 2019, Green Cove Springs, Florida at 10am at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home, Green Cove Springs, Florida. There will be a brief graveside service following at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Green Cove Springs, Florida.  

The family will be celebrating his life after the proceedings at the house of Calvin and Karen Coon's at 1006 Leno Rd, Green Cove Springs.
