Jeanette Paula Kearns Whitener passed away on Thursday, January 8th, 2026.

Her parents were Dwight Kearns and Fern Duffer Kearns.

Jeanette was born August 14th, 1940 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Graduated from Clay High School, Green Cove Springs, Florida.

Jeanette worked at VyStar Credit Union for 55 years.

Jeanette was married to Jimmy William Whitener.

Jeanette was a member of Black Pond Baptist Church.

Her past times were staying home, watching tv, playing games on her phone and being with her family.

She will be remembered by the love and kindness she showed to everyone.

Preceded in death by her husband Jimmy William Whitener.

Survived by her only son, James Garrison Whitener, daughter-in-law Teresa Whitener; two grandsons, Timothy James Whitener and Christopher Michael Whitener; three great-grandchildren, Jackson Rowdy Whitener, Hollister Morgan Whitener and Lilly Grace Whitener.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 15th at Black Pond Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM followed by services at 12:00PM. Following services, a reception will be held in the fellowship hall at Black Pond. Burial will take place at 2:00PM at Peoria Cemetery. Pastor Jason Brown will be officiating.
