Jean Irene (Carter) Dunnmon, was born on March 14, 1938, in New York City, New York to Samuel Jacob Carter and Roberta Alice (Deratany) Carter. She passed from this life on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in Jacksonville Florida at the age of 87. Jeanie was raised and educated in Green Cove Springs, Florida, where she graduated from the Clay High School Class of 1956. She married and moved to Eldorado Arkansas where she had her only son, Stephen. Eventually she moved to Jacksonville, Florida and she started her career as a secretary for the VP of Reichhold Chemicals, eventually retiring. She married Homer J Dunnmon and stayed in Jacksonville enjoying her retirement traveling the world. They adventured to 25 different countries such as, Israel, Monaco, Switzerland, and Australia.
Jeanie was an avid country line dancer and spent most of her young adulthood dancing and enjoying life. Her faith in the Lord was very important to her. She was loving, caring, and devoted to her family and friends, never letting them want for anything. She always put other people’s needs before her own. She was well known to everyone for making the best banana pudding and mac n’ cheese around. In later years she enjoyed a variety of past times such as reading, visiting with people and talking on the phone, but the highlight of her life was taking care of her Parrot, “Pretty Boy”.

Her only Son; Stephen Charles Kibbons and wife Lorraine
One Grandson; Stephen Charles Kibbons II and wife Jena, Great Grandchildren Mason and Finley
Brother; Joey Carter
She was preceded in death by:
Her parents; Jake and Alice, her sisters; Bobbie & Patsy, her brother; Junior and husband; Homer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Marc Swarthout officiating. The family will receive friends in the church from 10:00 am until service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
