James “Will” Padgett, 50, of Green Cove Springs, FL, went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2025. He was born to James and Sharon Rowlls Padgett on February 22, 1975, in Orange Park, Florida.

He graduated from Clay High School where he played football and was on the track team. He graduated from Florida State Fire College and was a paramedic in Clay County for about 20 years. He loved his job at Vallencourt Construction. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Green Cove Springs. He was an avid fisherman and loved the Florida Gators and the Chicago Cubs. He will be remembered for his kindness and his love of family, friends, and animals.

He is survived by his father and mother, James and Sharon R. Padgett of Middleburg, Florida and his son Nicholas Padgett of Fleming Island. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Betty Rowlls, and Will and Helen Padgett.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, August 8, 2025, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Preacher James Countryman officiating and burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
