James Curtis Tomlin

September 30, 1937 — April 13, 2021

James Curtis Tomlin, 83, of Callahan passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Tuesday April 13th following a long illness. He was born on September 30th,1937.

He was a beloved member of First Baptist Church of Callahan. JC, as he was lovingly called, graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1956. He was a proud United States Coast Guard Veteran and retired from SCM Glidco after 35 years. He enjoyed a life full of golfing, camping, fishing and many family gatherings surrounded by loved ones.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years-Martha Miller-Tomlin, daughters- Sonja Tomlin Marsh (Steve), Donna Stokes Jones (Scott); granddaughters- Kristen Williams (Lewis), Jamie Williams (Nick), Lindsey Jones (Chad), Jenna Davis (Tyler); great grandchildren- Caden, Colson, Kurtis and Koby; one brother- Gene Tomlin (Betty), and two sisters Dianne Whitaker, Becky Benton (David).

The family will receive friends starting at 10AM Friday April 16th at First Baptist Church of Callahan with a Memorial service to follow at 11AM.

The interment will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Lannie Rd at a later date.
