On Friday, 21st July 2023, the world lost a beloved soul, Ollie, who hailed from Middleburg, FL. Born to John Stanley Oliver and Elva Steele Oliver, he brought light and love to the lives he touched. Ollie's journey through life was marked by numerous accomplishments and a heart full of warmth and kindness.

In his youth, Ollie's passion for football led him to achieve greatness. He graduated from Oakridge High School, where he played an instrumental role in leading his Football team to victory, securing the prestigious 58/59 National Tennessee Football Championship. Their achievements were so remarkable that, on the 22nd of July 2023, they were deservedly inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. Ollie's dedication and commitment to the sport were truly awe-inspiring.

Following his time in high school, Ollie had a very short stint (first semester) at his beloved “Rocky Top” before serving his country with utmost honor and dedication. He retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, with an impressive 21 years of service to his name. His unwavering commitment to protecting his fellow countrymen left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. We must also pay tribute to Ollie’s dedicated service at the North Florida Shipyard, where he spent 30 years of his life working with unwavering commitment and skill. Ollie's remarkable work ethic, coupled with his expertise, contributed significantly to the success of the shipyard.

Ollie was deeply involved in various fraternal organizations. He was an avid Mason and Shriner, embodying the values of brotherhood and charity. Ollie's compassionate nature extended beyond these circles; he was known as "Gator Boy," reflecting his ardent devotion to Gator Football and sports. Ollie's vibrant personality and genuine interest in others meant he never met a stranger, making friends wherever he went. He will always be remembered as the proud Creator of the Gators Eleven Gator Group, a testament to his love for his favorite team.

Ollie's legacy of love and joy lives on through those he leaves behind. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Kelly. Ollie was also a cherished father to all his children; David Oliver (Leslie), Greg Plemons (Karen), Ted Plemons (Francine) and Deana Martell, his only daughter, who held a special place in his heart. Ollie's love extended to his 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, leaving a lasting impact on each generation.

Ollie's life was not without loss, as he was preceded in death by his father, John Oliver, mother, Elva Steele Oliver, brother, Billy Oliver, and sons, Billy Oliver and John Oliver. He also mourned the loss of his son-in-law, Charles "Marty" Martell, and grandchild, Jared Novak.

In addition to his numerous achievements, Ollie will forever be remembered as the Love of Kelly’s Life, his soulmate and constant companion. Their love story was one of profound devotion and companionship, leaving an indelible mark on their family and all who knew them.

Ollie's life was not only about personal accomplishments; he had a genuine passion for helping others. His selfless acts of kindness and generosity unknowingly touched and inspired countless lives. Ollie's heart was big, and he never hesitated to extend a helping hand to those in need.  A true extrovert, Ollie was the life of every party. He knew how to embrace life fully and find joy in the simplest of moments. With his infectious laughter and vibrant spirit, Ollie could light up any room he entered, leaving everyone around him smiling and laughing.

When it came to solving problems, Ollie was a master. His no-nonsense approach, combined with honesty and straightforwardness, meant that you could always rely on him for an honest opinion or a practical solution. His integrity was unimpeachable, and his words were as good as gold.

Ollie's adventurous spirit made him a lover of fun and excitement. He was not afraid to take risks and explore new horizons, leaving behind a legacy of thrilling memories and daring escapades.

As a sage and a mentor, Ollie's wisdom and guidance touched the lives of those around him. He shared valuable life lessons and pearls of wisdom that will be cherished by his family for generations to come.

In the wake of his passing, the memories of Ollie's love, laughter, and wisdom will be a source of comfort and inspiration to his family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. May his remarkable journey through life serve as a guiding light for all who knew him, and may his spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he loved. Rest in peace, dear Ollie, as you embark on your greatest adventure yet.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support and love you have shown following the passing of Ollie. We have come to the decision that the burial will be a private, intimate funeral reserved for immediate family members only. We kindly ask for your understanding and respect for this choice.

It is also our desire to celebrate the vibrant lives he lived, and the connections he fostered with each and every one of you. Ollie and Kelly are blessed with an extensive network of friends, and we wish to honor his memory in a way that reflects the joy, laughter, and love he brought into the world.  This gathering will be a chance for us to share stories, reminisce about cherished moments, and support one another as we remember Ollie in a Celebration of Life of an incredible individual who touched our lives in immeasurable ways.
