It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of my beloved Mother, Hilda Joyce Cook Dukes, who left this world peacefully on August 17,2025 at the age of 71 in Orange Park, Fl
Born on December 3,1953 in Colquitt Georgia in Miller County as the only child, she lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. Joy was the heart of our home—her strength, gentle wisdom, and unconditional love shaped us in ways words can never fully capture.

She is reunited in peace with her Father D.F Cook AKA Dallas Fate Cook, and Mother Edith Laverne Newberry Cook, Grandparents Sam Newberry, Grandmother Minnie Adel Cleveland Newberry, Ervin Cook and Mae Long Cook. Joy grew up with many extended uncles, aunts and cousins.
Beyond her role as a devoted mother, Joy was member of First Baptist Church in Orange Park Florida and Baptized by Pastor Carroll Kendrick on April 21st, 1982 —She retired from the manufacturing industry. Joy loved to dance, listen to music and loved her Elvis and Justin Bieber, she would love to watch movies and loved fast cars especially her Charger or anything with a fast motor. Joy loved spending every Christmas and Birthdays with her daughter and family making every moment special. She loved St. Augustine and being at the beach. She loved collecting seashells. She touched the lives of many through her kindness, generosity, sense of humor, faith, etc. Joy moved back to Florida after many years to be closer with her daughter Misty, son-in-law Chris and grandson Hunter that she tremendously loved. She tremendously cared, trusted and had Faith in her ex-husband Clayton Dukes Jr his and beloved wife that is with Jesus Christ Marsha Dukes that she loved and adored.
