Herbert G Phillips

Herb passed away January 14, 2021 in the Moosehaven Health Care Center at the age of 92.

 

He was born to Herbert and Nellie Phillips on April 19, 1929 in Jacksonville, Florida.

 

Herb served in the US Army from October 25, 1948 to October 2, 1950 during the Korean War.

Herb established several successful businesses including, The Red Barns in Morristown, NJ, Arizona Handicrafts in Tucson, AZ and Turtle Back RV Park in Lake Panasoffkee, FL.  He retired in 1988. 

Herb became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on October 15, 1969 when he joined Lake Panasoffkee, FL Lodge #1179.  He received his Fellowship Degree on October 26, 1980 and was Past Governor on May 1, 1970.  Herb was a member of Cypress, FL Legion #202 and sponsored 14 members in his lifetime. 

 

He came to Moosehaven on July 11, 2007 where he resided for 13 years and 6 months. 

 

He is survived by his niece, Sandra Willey of Waldwick, NJ, nephew Thomas Summers of Westfield, NJ, and nephew Richard Smith of Seminole, TX.  Herb also leaves behind great nieces and nephews, Robyn Willey, Jason Willey, Jocelyn Summers and Kevin Summers.
