Gwenn Ann Mills was born on March 19, 1955, in Barstow, California to the late Aleda Catherine Mills (Heagy) and Charles George Mills, Jr. She had four siblings. They grew up together in Maryland. Her family instilled in her a love for boating and the water, a strong work ethic, and high self-efficacy; she was afraid of nothing and took on the world. She worked, she raised a family, and she flipped houses. Of her many jobs, her favorite was being an assistant high school teacher at the local Alternative High School, IVAC. Gwenn traveled the world and lived life to the fullest. Gwenn passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, with her daughters by her side. Her celebration of life will be held August 2, 2025.
She is survived by her son, Drue Holdeman, of Jacksonville, FL; and two daughters, Marda Harper and Amber Bishop of Green Cove Springs, FL; and her grandchildren: Raegan McGhee, Mackenzie Huddleston, Cody Holdeman, Hannah Holdeman, Indiana Harper, Makayla Harper, Samantha Harper and Colten Harper; great-grandchild: Henry Huddleston; She is also survived by her brother John Mills, sister Colleen Bixler, and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Gwenn was preceded in death by her daughter Traci Beckfield, twin sister Teresa Lee Mills “Terri,” and brother Charles George Mills III “Chip.”
