Gerald L. Spurlin, 87, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away October 19, 2023. He was born on January 30, 1936 in Palatka, FL to parents George and Loula (Rich) Spurlin. Mr. Spurlin was a Clay High School graduate and was retired from the United States Navy. He worked at American CoolAir and enjoyed working on his sawmill and tree farm. He was a member of Living Waters Worship Center, Clay County Cattleman’s Association, Farm Bureau, and Florida Forestry Association. He will be remembered for his hard work and love of the land he worked to preserve for the wildlife that live there. Survived by his daughters' Lindsey Spurlin Jones and Amber Alane Spurlin, and grandson Brice Honeycutt all of Green Cove Springs FL. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Clay County Cattleman’s Scholarship Fund in his name. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 26, 2023 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Penney Farms Cemetery with Pastor Joe Barrie officiating.
