George Houston Qualls, of Green Cove Springs, passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 85.

He was born to Fadie and Letia Qualls on December 27, 1939 in Gadsden, Alabama.

From a young age he enjoyed farming. Growing up in Georgia and Florida he worked on varies farms that grew oranges and cotton. His family eventually moved to Green Cove Springs, Florida, where he met his wife of 65 years Eleanor Kaczmar Qualls.

He retired after 25 years from Johns-Manville as a mixer operator. He found a new hobby; Fixing lawn mowers and growing his garden. People would come from ail over so he could repair their lawn mowers. They also said that he grew some of the best tomatoes. He would help anyone.

George will be remembered as someone who cared deeply for his family and friends.

He is proceeded in death by his mother Lelia Irene Qualls, father Fadie Qualls, brothers

Joseph, Emmett, James and Richard. He is survived by his wife Eleanor (Kaczmar) Qualls, Daughter Doris Bartkovsky, Son in Law Ronald Bartkovsky and Granddaughter Laura Bartkovsky, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
